Cold Weather Shelter

When the weather outside is frightful in Anacortes from now until Valentine’s Day, how can you help homeless families and single persons find shelter from the cold?

The Cold Weather Shelter at the Anacortes Salvation Army needs volunteers from churches, businesses, service clubs and any other organization with people who are interested in helping others.

Volunteers will serve either from 5 – 8 PM, 8 – 11PM, or 6 – 8AM:  The Salvation Army will provide staff to work the 11PM – 6AM shifts.

Volunteers welcome guests, serve meals (typically prepared by local restaurants), and help the shelter residents set up and take down pop-up tents in The Salvation Army’s Great Room.

See the calendar at the left for open time slots

To volunteer contact the Anacortes Salvation Army (see below) or email cw.shelter@usw.salvationarmy.org
